Solid surface is a man-made material usually composed of acrylic, epoxy or polyester resins. It was originally produced by DuPont under the name Corian but is now made by manufacturers all over the world under the generic name of “solid surface.”
In a bathroom environment, solid surface products are usually found as basins, baths or vanity benchtops.
One of the major advantages of a solid surface product is its ease of maintenance. If it is scratched or has minor damage it can be repaired with ease by just sanding back the affected area. This is not the case with high gloss products which is why we always recommend a matte finish for this product.
