The Crown solid surface basin sits on the smallest of pillars to give the illusion that the basin is floating. The appearance of water flowing into a "floating" basin is a visual spectacle which will make your bathroom stand amongst the elite. Even when you are up close to the basin you'll notice that the basin walls are very thin. This doesn't detract from its strength; Solid surface is an extremely strong material, but it makes it seem visually minimalistic. It is a large basin but it is certainly not bulky.
Solid surface is a material made mostly from acrylic which is heated and formed into a mold. It is then sanded or gel coated depending on its finish. Solid surface basins have a matte white finish so comes with a smooth, satin finish. It is cleaned using a mild detergent with a magic eraser. A key advantage to the solid surface basins is that if scratched or damaged, the surface can be sanded back with fine sandpaper. This brings the surface back to its original luster.
This solid surface basin will fit into just about any environment. It is wide, narrow and deceptively large making it extremely practical. Whether you are washing your face or having a shave, you will be able to do it with room to spare.
We love that it allows you to see most of your benchtop. Many basins cover up a large proportion of your benchtop and if you've just spent a good amount of money on a nice timber benchtop the last thing you want to be doing is covering it up. It also allows you the luxury of more bench space.
Add a nice pop-up mushroom waste plug and pair it with some round tapware like the Star Mini tall basin mixer.
