The Amelie back-to-wall bath combines the comfort of a freestanding bath with the practicality of the traditional, inset bath. It is designed to sit flat against your bathroom tiles. This allows for small shelves in the corners of the bath so you can easily store your favourite book or bubble bath. The back-to-wall bath is becoming increasingly popular because there is no cleaning behind it like a traditional freestanding bath.
It is easy to choose a bath based solely on its design or practicality. This bath ticks both those boxes. But it is also made from the highest quality acrylic, Lucite. Lucite is a brand name, trademarked by Dupont, in 1937. It is superior to other acrylics due to its high density and ability to withstand frequent wear and tear. It is also UV resistant meaning it won't turn yellow over time like cheaper acrylics and is 100% recyclable. As if that wasn't enough, it is also non-porous which prevents any dirt from accumulating on the surface making it easy to clean and stain resistant.
To add to the superior quality of Lucite, it is supported underneath by six adjustable feet on a steel frame. This allows you to adjust the bath to be perfectly level no matter how uneven your floor surface is. Each side of the acrylic is supported at the base by two strips of acrylic so it is near impossible for the bath to bow or move out of shape when filling the bath with 150 litres of water.
The Amelie freestanding bath is amazingly comfortable and looks amazing. Its slimline edging provides a sense of modern elegance but its simplicity in design allows it to suit any bathroom environment. The angle of the side panels allows your tiles to become more present around the bath. This creates visual space in your bathroom making it look bigger than it really is. It also allows the bath to become more of a feature in creating a depth of vision.
